Originally created for a domestic violence organization that wanted a “well known” woman and a caption that read “it can happen to anyone.”

Taken from a classic Byzantine painting, the artist, Russelle, used an undercoating of green covered with various forms of gold leaf and oil paint. This image is available as a poster as well as featured on various stationary and apparel on this site.

Domestic violence can happen to anyone of any race, age, sexual orientation, religion or gender. It can happen to couples who are married, living together or who are dating. Domestic violence affects people of all socioeconomic backgrounds and education levels.
