The Forgotten Goddess is a fully branded company based on the concept of empowering women to embrace themselves as goddesses. We offer art, poster/prints, apparel, stationary, decor, furniture etc. We also support a cause: to end domestic violence and a percentage of certain items will go towards that cause.
Women are Goddesses and we hope that our products will inspire and empower them, whether they are artists that may eventually be featured and/or licensed on our site, or women who want to include beautiful empowering art and products in their lives and environment.
We live in a Patriarchal society. Women of all socio-economic groups all over the world have forgotten how beautiful and powerful they can be when they stop subjugating themselves to their families/men, religions, cultures etc. When we remember how beautiful and powerful we are from the inside out, we transform our environments, our lives, and the lives of those around us, making the world a better place for everyone.
Russelle was born in New York City and spent many of her childhood years in Ireland – land of the “Faery” tale. She has also lived in France and throughout the United States. She attended Parson’s School of Design in New York and Paris, and Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles where she studied Communications and Illustration.
As an artist, Russelle describes herself as “bewitched by humanity in general: intrigued by our diversities, our moral concepts and compasses, and how we define our senses of personal integrity”. All Goddess paintings contain elements of “both life and death, light and dark, purity and depravity – I amazed and awed by the way we manage to live with both every day”. In addition to her goddess and fairy tale paintings, Russelle also creates fantasy custom portraits, works with children, has authored/illustrated several children’s books, and is a published songwriter and illustrator. She also owns a small all natural cookie company. She currently resides in Los Angeles.
